Stock Take

The Stock Take function is used to reconcile the computer stock totals to the physical stock totals.  Head Office will notify the store when a stock take is required.

The Apparel21 POS stock take functions are designed to be used with a scanner.  This makes it faster to enter the stock take count.  Product counts can be manually entered but it is more usual to scan items on a portable scanner before connecting the scanner to download the results.

Counts are completed by store location (Eg back room, shelves,…).  This enables several people to count at the same time.  As soon as a location has been counted and entered, stock from that location can be sold.

Note:  Laybys do NOT need to be counted.

The broad procedures for stock take are:

  1. Head Office set up the stock take manually or via POS Monitor (after all previous sales have been updated in the computer)
  2. Store enters stock take counts
  3. Store completes stock take
  4. Head Office analyse the stock take and update the count
