Using the keyboard and mouse

Apparel21 POS is designed to be used with the keyboard in-conjunction with the mouse.

Using the Keyboard

The keyboard is divided into four basic sections:

  1. Alys
  2. Numeric keypad
  3. Special keys
  4. Function keys

Note:  A key press is indicated by enclosing the key thus <SPACE> - this indicates that the space bar should be pressed.  Sequences of keys are shown as <Alt+C> - hold the Alt key and press the C key or <F> <ENTER> - press the F key and then press the Carriage Return <ENTER> key.

Alpha-Numeric Keys

These keys contain the alpha, numeric, and special character keys required to operate the computer.  Some of the keys have two characters printed on the key top - these keys perform a dual function.  When used by themselves they produce the lower of the two characters however when used in conjunction with either of the <SHIFT> keys they will produce the upper of the two characters.

Numbers can be entered using either the numeric keypad or the number keys in the alpha-numeric section, whichever is more convenient. The numeric keypad is activated / de-activated with the <NUM LOCK> key that can found on the numeric keypad.
